Mobile Landing Pages and Why You Need One Yesterday

As the world of cellular and mobile device technology continues to evolve, you need to evolve with it. Whether you believe in evolution or not, you will become extinct if you do not evolve with the changing times. It seems that survival of the fittest comes into play as well as those internet marketers who have made adaptations to their websites will be the ones who survive as mobile devices will display a web page differently then a normal computer browser.

I am sure you have taken note of this before when you look at the same website on different computers between work, school, home, the library etc. If the dimensions are not suitable for your viewing medium, you may see pictures aligned wrong, or not there at all. Text that should have looked nice, is jumbled or overlapping. The problems go on and on.

If you have internet access on your mobile device, such as a smart phone, iPad, iPhone etc., you may have noticed you can not see everything you need when you view through these smaller devices. Scrolling becomes a mess and you often can not navigate as well as you would like to. There must be an easier way.

That way is through “Mobile Landing Pages” which are designed specifically to be smaller in dimensions and have limited information so that they get right to the point and yet still draw in new clients to whatever it is your goal is. Perhaps an internet marketer wants to give away a free ebook or audio of a report or interview, they can set up a capture page (also known as an opt-in page, landing page as well as some other names) and easily ask for a first name and email address to send the report to. The new client would then get an email directing them to the correct information assuming there was an autoresponder set up or a direct link to the product on the following page.

I had to of course check this out to believe it and what other way to do it but to check out some of my own sites to see where I was having issues. I borrowed my brother in laws iPhone and started tapping in the domain names to some of my websites and low and behold, they sure seemed to have issues with appearance on these smaller devices.

Some of the things I noticed that would deter a person from getting what they needed out of my site as well as would keep them from becoming a member of my list include but were not limited to are below:

1) The font size is dramatically reduced

2) scrolling options and navigation of the larger view did not all show up on my screen

3) Some of the videos were not mobile friendly and would not load

4) My opt-in box was not visible on top of the fold (this means on the top portion of what you see and therefore should not have to scroll around to find)

5) my links seemed to blend together when two words separated by a space or comma were present.

As you can see, these are all issues that would quickly deter a person away from your site. Why spend more time fighting with a site, when you can find another one right? This is exactly what you do not want to happen of course. You want them to stay with your site and opt in to your report, audio etc.

By having the appropriate set up or possible options in your web design, you will make your customer experience an easier one. The old saying of KISS comes to play here with Keep It Simple Silly (or substitute whatever else for the second ‘S’) where you really do not want to overwhelm the site visitor.

The whole point of a mobile device with internet capabilities is to make things quick and easy so people do not have to fight around in an effort to find your information. These devices are limited already in size, so you need to adapt if you are to survive these changes. I realize they are making larger touchpads, which solve some of the issues, but you do not see to many people walking around with a huge iPad in their back pocket or in line at the grocery store.

If you have advertising out in the real world, people are looking for instant gratification to look you up on the road and be able to experience what you have to offer without having to struggle with limited dexterity and typing on a smaller touchpad. Any change you can make to ease the customer experience will be one that will benefit you and your business in the long run so that you continue to evolve and be the leader.

So I just watched the sales letter for Russell Brunson’s new Underachiever Secrets and was blown away by the fact that he is currently releasing it for just $37!

Now if you know anything about Russell Brunson, he usually has a price point of about $497 for his products, or at least a $97 per month charge.  The fact that he is giving so much away for so little with his UnderAchiever Secrets is amazing in itself.

If you have the extra $37 to spare..or even if you don’t for that matter, feel free to use your card and pay it off when you get your bill, you will be making a wise investment.  I have been very happy with the products Russell Brunson has put out thus far and this should be par for the course as well….only less expensive.

Social media for the online marketer

So recently I have been taking time away from social media and when I do go there it seems as though I may be pushing too much….but I just can’t believe the material and content that is coming out lately that I feel the world should know about.

If you are like me, this is most likely how your social media life has been online.  Too many offers, not enough time.  We all fall into this trap and it is ok to realize this.  Making the appropriate changes to improve your branding and ability to conquer the almight task of being someone you can “KNOW, LIKE and TRUST” can be daunting for some.  It is not impossible though.

Dripping in quality offers or suggested sites here and there is the norm it seems and often many posts get overlooked and pass into the abyss of messages.  If it is an affiliate offer, this might not do you any good as the product hype might die down and thus you have wasted space online. 

Now, what if you had written a short review article of the same product and added a link to your site/blog etc. on the social media sites.  Now this would be recognized by the search engines as having backlinks from quality sites and increase your rankings on sites like google which of course is what we all want.  We want to rank high for keywords related to our websites.

Developing relationships and getting involved in conversations in social media is a great way to improve your chances in the “KNOW, LIKE and TRUST” world where people will start to recognize the consistent value you provide for them…Be giving and they will come!

Without beating the social media donkey, to round out the post I want end by stating the obvious…warm people up before you try to jump in their marketing pants!

Russell Brunson is a little snot wow package

Russell Brunson is a little snot!  That is what I burst out laughing too a while ago, while I was listening to one of the many items I got in the WOW package from Russell Brunson, of Dot Com Secrets fame.  Really!  Yes, Really, this was something he talked about that was ranked high on google when you search for “little snot”…Don’t beleive me, then go search it yourself on Google.

Now you are probably thinking, why would, or could an internet marketer come up with such a random keyword and rank #1 for it on google?  If you checked it out, there really is not even a story there any more about it as it was something of the past, but you can get to his new site as well.  To put it to you bluntly…the man knows stuff!  If you are a guru or a newbie in the internet marketing field, you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not jump on what Russell Brunson tells you.

I recently had the opportunity to take him up on Russell Brunson’s WOW package…which like every marketing guru is set up to reel you into their funnel…well, I was pulled in quick, though the content provided in PHYSICAL products alone was worth the cost of the $60 or so bucks it cost to send the nearly 17 pound box of materials as seen in the video below.

 I am still going through some of these products today, though some of them for the second or third time as Russell as a quick manner of explaining things, but in an easy to comprehend way…by no means is it rocket science.

Russell Brunsons Hair Pulling marketers

So are you a hair pulling marketer?  As in, are you pulling your own hair out to try to figure it all out?

Everyone goes through struggles of course as diving into the get quick rich schemes of course are just that, SCHEMES!

It does not have to be this way though if you learn and actually use what you learn.  Trying to re-create the wheel at this point when there are so many marketers out there today doing all these amazing techniques of traffic generation, or developing some great new program.  All you have to do is sign up for a list and you can be inundated with offers from affiliates.  Now, do not get me wrong, I love being an affiliate for many people.

As word to the wise here as I am not pushing anything (at least in this sentence!) is that you should aleast own the product or have seen some good review copy of it before you start pushing it out to your list.  It amazes me how the Guru’s put out swipe files for their affiliates to pull emails from, then I end up getting a slew of the same emails from many difference marketers.  These guys do not even take the time to edit and change or personalize the content of the email..Weak if you ask me, especially when some of them claim to never follow this practice and always try to make it personal.

I think time have become too much of an issue and they are having some ghost writer or emplyees push these out daily in an attempt to rack up huge commissions with their huge lists.  This of course leaves the little man as the “Hair Pulling Marketers” as they obtain only a few sales, if any.

A great way to smooth into the transition of becoming an internet marketer and keep some of that lovely hair on your head would be to join forums and learn from the mistakes of others so that you can become a guru in your niche some day.  I have joined Russell Brunson’s Tribe (actually as a Platinum member) but this has a free member forum that is good for anyone to join where you can get tips and tricks on almost all areas of marketing.  You could pay out for some of this information, but in the beginning, you want to save money, especially in these economic times.

I highly suggest you reduce your stress level by learning everything on your own, which I so stupidely seem to keep doing and enveloping myself in the world of information overload!  By getting in on discussions you can learn from others mistakes easier than wasting a lot of time and money on your own.  You can also leave links to your site with the signature, which is highly recommended as this can drive traffic for you when you are not there for years to come when others search the forum for information.

How do I become an internet Marketer

Well, there is an interesting question posed.  How do I become an internet Marketer.  Well, sometimes you get what you wished for and other times, you can beg and not get anything!  The goal perhaps is to find a happy medium where a consistent work ethic will pay off in the end. 

They say there is so much money out there to be made online that you think everyone would want a piece of the action.  Well I am not going to tell you about any programs at all  in this post that will make all your worries go away over night, nor am I going to let you know about the coolest new software that will blow your competition out of the water.

Instead I am just going to start giving.

I have been an internet marketer for a couple years now and have seen some profits, but also some losses as well.  For the most part, my losses have come in the scope of being courses I have bought, hosting fees, domain purchases, advetising in the form of PPC or Pay Per Click and the like.  Now these are all things that can be considered expenses and are thus necessary, s0 I maintain positive that they will pay off in the future.

What, the future is not tomorrow when I open up my email account and see a hundred emails saying that you’ve received a commission!  We all know that would be wonderful, but most likely is not the case.

So as to not bore you to death, I want to point out that little guy who looks like he is sitting on a toilet on the top right of the page.  Next to him are the letters RSS, which stand for “Really Simple Sindication.”  What I want you to do right now is go click on him and be able to ge notified of anytime I make a post!  Over the next few weeks, I will be adding valuable content in regards to “How do I become an internet marketer.”

I want you to join my RSS “feed” as they say because I can not possibly give you all the  ins and out of becoming an internet marketer in one simple blog post.  There are many facets of internet marketing and I will drip some to you over the next weeks.

If you are reading this I must assume you have an internet connection of some sort (unless the powers that be chose me and swiped my article and put it to print in a magazine without my knowledge (and the RSS feed would mean nothing then)) Perhaps you are at work, at home or on your mobile device.  Any one of these are usable for you to become an internet marketer.

A computer might be more benifical for purposes of typing, better graphics and higher download speeds, but this does not totally eliminate you from the benefits of becoming the next internet rockstar if you only have an iphone or some other mobile device that allows you to type online.

My first major tip for you that relates to “how do I become an internet marketer” would be to set up a gmail account.  This email system is amazing (as is google itself)  that you can store large amounts of emails and attachments for free.  You can also set this up to have other email accounts forward their mail here as well as use gmail to send emails out that look as though they are coming from your other email accounts.

I personally have well over 15 different emails from various websites I run and to not have to log into my cPanel and then my web based email account 15 times is a major timesaver as I can scroll from a list in gmail and choose which account I want the email to come from (make sure you forward to gmail first, then add the other account inside your gmail.

Get to this spot by going through the following steps:

1) go to Settings in the top right of your gmail page

2) click the 3rd tag for ‘accounts and import’ tag.

3) Click the import from another address button

4) enter the address you want to add  (as mentioned earlier make you sure set up your forwarder already to your new gmail account that can be done in your cPanel or other admin settings panel depending on the email service you are using)

5) check your gmail email for the newly forwared email in a few minutes and verify that you want to set up and you are ready to go.

This alone can save you hours over the course of a week or month in having all your email accounts delivered right to gmail so that you can start taking charge of your online presence and status of becoming an internet marketer.

I have been a member of GVO for over 14 months. They host many of my websites (inlcuding this blog you are reading now!) and I have been extremely satisfied with their support and programs. Just recently they helped me fix html code for one of my websites.

One example would be for people in the multi level marketing or MLM industry, in that they could save on the travel and renting of hotel rooms and instead have people enroll in one of their online webinars and participate that way. I know it is a different dynamic than being their first hand, but with the changes in technology today, people want things to be easier and easier to access. Heck, I went to one of the Market America hotel meetings and they wanted $15 to attend and called it a training session. For the members themselves they wanted $5 each time they brought someone else to view the opportunity and made it out to be like a dues fee! I found that somewhat strange that they had to pay to see the opportunity. I considered it a chance to educate myself in how the “system” works sometimes.

People do not want to pay to have to hear stuff, instead invite them to the no risk, no cost , webinar where they can learn more from the comfort of their home and are not put into an akward position of chatter with someone face to face over a product they might not care to promote. There is a whole slew of ideas that can be put to debate on MLM companies, but that is for another story.

Lets say for example you are a health food store near a large grocery store. As I have mentioned in the videos, you do need to invest in your success.  Whether it is time, money or both, you need to be consistent in your efforts.  Checking out other marketers is also important to hear things from a different perspective, though at the same time it is important to work through the information overload that can exist when you start moving in many directions and training in many courses (which I like many others am guily of as well).

Like BobTheTeacher says, Take Action Revise Later, or TARL for short.  I actually have a piece of paper I carry around in my wallet with this abbreviation with a list of the many things I need to do or to work on to reach success.  I use to carry it in my pocket, but it got so warn out, I had to replace it, then one day I totally lost the second one and was worried I would not be able to remember a program or item that needed attention.  Out of nowhere, my daughters friend found it soaked and stuck in the corner or my driveway against the brick wall!  I was pumped to get it back and decided my wallet would provide a safer haven for it.

Regardless of how you attempt to keep yourself going, the main idea is that you do.  As I always tell my student, “You get out of it what you put into it.”  Work hard and share your success.  Leave a comment and make us aware of what you are doing to make it work for you!
